You'll enjoy a great course that runs right along Lake Michigan and starts and finishes near the downtown Kenosha area. Finish your race with a Big Cheese Medal draped around your neck and cheese in hand. Packet Pick-up will be available in the Milwaukee area, Chicagoland, Kenosha, and on race morning. Exact dates, times, and locations will be announced on our website. Packet mailing is also available for an additional fee and must be ordered by April 15th.
No extra fees for the virtual race. The mailing is included with your race fee for the Virtual Race only. Courses for the marathon, half marathon, and 5k will be slightly different from the past. They are the same basic courses as in the past, with a few changes. New for The marathon course will be a double loop course.
Course maps will be posted after final measurements have been taken. Course time limit is 6. Start Times: Start time for all distances is 7am. New for We will have an early start time available for those marathoners that are worried about making the time cut-off.
Your timing chip will activate when you cross the start mat. Swag: All participants will receive a short sleeve, tech shirt. We have unisex and women's cuts available. There was a small portion of the race on a packed gravel trail. The headwind was pretty strong close to mile 12 and just so happened to coincide with the only real elevation gain on the course. Downtown Kenosha had some nice Victorian home and the outlying residential areas were charming. The finish running towards the lighthouse was very cool.
The effort to produce a live event during the pandemic was appreciated. Enjoyable course with a lot of scenery. The wind off the lake makes it more challenging, but a great race to do again. The course lay out was great - It has you running the first half along the waterway The other down side was the Medal was a joke. Runners will run through Harbor Park and past several newly built homes and storefronts.
After a quick run through downtown, the course will head south onto a four mile loop through residential neighborhoods, before returning downtown. The course will continue into Simmons Island Park, run along the lakefront, and head north to Carthage College before turning around and following the path back downtown.
Once back into the residential area, the half marathoners will turn around and head back to Harbor Park for the finish, while the marathoners will continue south into the Village of Pleasant Prairie. While in Pleasant Prairie, runners will loop through the residential neighborhoods before turning around near the Prairie Harbor Yacht Club. On the way back, runners will get a chance to see several, unique beachfront houses.
